Remaining days of summer..

Stumbled into Buskerfest 2011 on route to Harbourfront.

Giant bug that scared the bf and gave us an insight on how it feels like to be the ant.

The only picture the bf took that I am truly impressed about.

But the best way to end off summer is really with an impulsive buy - whether a cashmere wool blend jacket or an expensive cardigan - we are ready for fall.

Special #20.

Sterling Silver New York Strip Loin (8oz)

Us being silly as per usual.

It was a journey and a half getting to Bobbette and Belle in the midst of a thunderstorm (yes hail was involved..) but well worth it at the end because the sun came out and the great lighting in my pictures proves it. The red velvet cupcake was to die for because I’ve never tasted cream cheese that was that flawless. ever. First time trying hazelnut cake and it tasted like nutella + ferrero rocher; the two best things in the world combined. Also for the first time, the boyfriend tried a macaroon and I watched from aside. I can’t wait till I get to try a real one from France. Until then, I have willpower.

I have to admit, our day weren’t jam packed with activities but we managed to finish off our day at Wildfire and my conclusion is the steak is to die for. It took no effort to chew and I was so full by the end of the night I didn’t even have room for my favourite desert.

Giving gifts always makes me more happy than receiving them. I was satisfied at the end of the night because I knew I did a good job making the boyfriend happy. I hope he never loses this necklace. Not until he secretly wants a new one at least.

win.

Doctor-inspired tool birthday present for Evan (one which he loves more)

Engineered-inspired birthday present for Evan

Giant yoghurt parfait, all-day-breakfast and a relaxed day at Vaughan Mills. Nothing more to ask for.

A new NEED.

FINALLY FREE FROM EXAMS! been in a good mood lately. got a job, done school, online shopping; it doesn’t take much to satisfy me obviously. Ive got my eyes set on this new love. when I have some spare change in my wallet after the boyfriends birthday i’ll definitely add this to my everyday wardrobe. The best part about it is it’s not obnoxiously big so it won’t look chunky on my small wrist

I love the rose gold but I can’t decide if it’s just a phase.. I’m looking for something more long-lasting and I don’t want to be annoyed of it by next season…
My other option is gold, something that’s been around for a long time, but the perils of that is it’s common..

For just $250 in the States; I’m sold. I don’t understand why the prices in Canada haven’t gone down yet. So worth driving over there to save $50 though. WHEN CAN I GO TO BUFFALO ???

This Too Shall Pass

Have been a lazy blogger again.. reason being that I haven’t taken any good pictures lately and I have nothing to write about when I have nothing to show.

Finally found a job after looking for over a month now… happy it isn’t a retail job. My job title isn’t fancy and I dont work at a big accounting firm but it will pay off some of my credit card bills and I’m excited to finally have a chance splurge on myself and the boyfriend. Haven’t even gotten my first paycheque yet and I’m already thinking of all the things I want to buy.

AND I found this picture on iheart and it justifies why my first kiss was so “memorable”….

I think we can all relate..

McD’s $1 ice coffee has made me forget about the wonders of Sbux. However I refuse to get one until i get a job.

andddd to help myself from watching The Voice rather than studying for this future midterm, I have spoiled myself the results. I was really rooting for Dia. : (

Let’s face it - English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren’t invented in England or French fries in France. Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads, which aren’t sweet, are meat. We take English for granted. But if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.

And why is it that writers write but fingers don’t fing, grocers don’t groce and hammers don’t ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn’t the plural of booth beeth? One goose, 2 geese. So one moose, 2 meese? One index, 2 indices? Doesn’t it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend? If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it?

If teachers taught, why didn’t preachers praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? In what language do people recite at a play and play at a recital? Ship by truck and send cargo by ship? Have noses that run and feet that smell? How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites?

You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out and in which an alarm goes off by going on. English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race (which, of course, isn’t a race at all). That is why, when the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they are invisible.”
